These Terms set out the conditions for using "Whereason" (the "Service"). By using the Service, users are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
About the Service
The Service displays a "season score" (an indication of the times of year suitable for travel at a destination), calculated from 30 years of historical weather data and other information, on a globe and in lists.
Not a Forecast
- Season scores are estimates calculated from historical average trends and are not forecasts of actual weather. Weather during a trip may vary significantly from year to year.
- Crowding, prices, festivals, business days, and other non-weather factors are not included in the season score.
Safety Information
- Travel advice displayed by the Service is prepared by processing Japan MOFA Overseas Safety open data and reflects the information available at the time it was retrieved.
- Before deciding whether to travel, always check the latest information on the Japan MOFA Overseas Safety website.
Disclaimer
- The operator does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or currency of information provided by the Service.
- Except where the operator acts intentionally or with gross negligence, the operator is not liable for damage arising from use of, or inability to use, the Service.
- The operator may change the contents of the Service or discontinue its provision without prior notice.
Prohibited Conduct
- Placing an excessive load on the Service
- Using content displayed by the Service in a way that may cause it to be mistaken for information provided by the operator
- Conduct that violates laws, regulations, or public order and morals
Sources and Rights
- The sources of data used by the Service are displayed under "About this app" in the app. Rights in each dataset belong to its respective provider.
- Destination photos are freely licensed images from Wikimedia Commons (CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC0, or public domain), resized for the Service. The author and license are shown below each photo with a link to the original file page. Rights in each photo belong to its author; any reuse must follow the photo's license.
- Rights in the Service's screens, text, and calculation methods belong to the operator. Images created with the sharing feature may be used freely within the scope of personal sharing.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. If a dispute arises in connection with the Service, the Tokyo District Court will have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance.
